A former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Oladimeji Fabiyi, has been inaugurated as the Deputy National Financial Secretary of the African Democratic Congress.
Fabiyi’s nomination was ratified by the ADC South-West Zonal Caucus at a meeting held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday, alongside other national and zonal officers of the party, according to a statement issued on Thursday, February 12.
Others whose nominations were confirmed at the meeting include Akinbowale Omole as National Vice Chairman (South-West); Capt. Tunji Shelle as National Director of Communication and Programmes; and Alhaja Kafilat Olayiwola as Deputy National Woman Leader.
Also ratified were Arc. Bashir Lawal as Assistant National Secretary (Diversity and Inclusion); Prof. Bode Ayorinde as Assistant National Organising Secretary; Mrs. Yidiat Oseni as Deputy Coordinator (Diaspora); Olufemi Adeleye; and Lady Lydia Olufunmiloye as Assistant National Woman Leader.

Speaking at the event, the ADC National Secretary and former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, congratulated the newly inaugurated officers and urged them to prioritise the overall interest of the party.
He said the ADC was being strategically positioned to “rescue Nigeria from the grip of the ruinous APC.”
“The task ahead is enormous; we must be ready to lead Nigerians out of the woods,” Aregbesola said.
Responding on behalf of the newly inaugurated executives, Fabiyi commended Aregbesola’s leadership and pledged their commitment to the growth and success of the party.
“We commend the exemplary leadership of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. We assure the leadership and members of our total dedication to the success of the party and to building a strong, credible alternative for Nigerians,” he said.
