Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has said Nigeria’s democratic process remains unfinished, describing the current system as civil rule rather than a full democracy.
Speaking on the significance of June 12, Falana expressed appreciation to Nigerians who took part in the protest and insisted that the country still has a long way to go in its democratic journey.
“We also want to thank you for coming out today to mark the June 12 anniversary.

“As you are well aware, there is no democracy in Nigeria. What we have is civil rule. Civilian administration. The struggle for democracy must continue,” he said.
He also commended members of the media for their coverage of the event and called on Nigerians to remain actively engaged in civic and democratic activities.
