Fashola Calls on Nigerian Youth to Reject Division, Exclusion

At the Lagos State Leadership Summit 2025, held on the 16th of April, 2025, at The Konga Place, Lekki, a former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, urged Nigerian youths to stand against those he referred to as “agents of division and exclusion.”

In his impassioned address, Fashola emphasized the need for the youth to concentrate on shared values, especially in a time dominated by identity politics.

The summit, which was held under the theme “Transformative Leadership: Development-Responsive, Adaptive and Inclusive Models,” provided the perfect platform for Fashola to share his insights.

His speech, centered around “The Inclusion Imperative: Why No One Wins When Leadership Leaves People Behind,” highlighted the critical role of unity and inclusivity in leadership.

Fashola reminded the audience that Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution already includes significant provisions aimed at promoting national cohesion and inclusiveness.

He stressed the necessity for leaders at all levels to actively embody these constitutional principles and turn them into meaningful action.
