The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), led by His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has announced that fasting may extend through the 30th of March, 2025, as the anticipated crescent moon marking the conclusion of Ramadan remains unseen across Nigeria.
In an official statement issued on the 29th of March, 2025, the NSCIA’s Secretary-General, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, emphasized the importance of moon sighting in determining the end of the holy month.
