FEC Meeting: Buhari presides, swears in six INEC commissioners

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday presided over the weekly virtual Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the council chambers of Presidential Villa Abuja.

Those physically present at the meeting include Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha and Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari.

Ministers at the meeting include the Minister of Labor and Productivity Chris Ngige; his state counterpart, Festus Keyamo; Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, and his state counterpart, Mohammed, Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.

Others are the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Olamilekan Adegbite, and his state counterpart Uche Ogar; Minister of Power and his state counterpart, Jeddy Agba; Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola; Minister of State Finance, Budget and National Planning among others.

The Head of Service Folashade Yemi-Esan and other ministers are attending the meeting virtually from their various offices in Abuja.

Meanwhile, President Buhari, before attending the FEC meeting, swore in six newly appointed national commissioners for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

They were sworn in during a brief ceremony that was witnessed by the Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Speaker House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno.

The six INEC commissioners that took oath of office were Mallam Mohammed Haruna, Niger State; Mary Agbamuche-Mbu, Delta; Ukaegbu Kenneth Nnamdi, Abia; Major General AB Alkali (Rtd), Adamawa, Prof Rhoda Gumus, Bayelsa, and Mr Sam Olumekun Ondo State.
