The Federal Government has introduced Rev360, a new digital tax administration platform aimed at enhancing tax compliance, streamlining interactions between taxpayers and authorities, and strengthening revenue generation as part of broader efforts to modernise Nigeria’s tax system.
The platform was officially launched on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) in Abuja. The unveiling attracted top government officials, representatives of development organisations, professional associations, business groups, tax experts and taxpayers.
Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, the Permanent Secretary (Special Duties) in the ministry, Mohammed Danjuma, described Rev360 as a significant milestone in the ongoing transformation of Nigeria’s revenue administration framework.
According to Oyedele, an effective tax administration system is essential for economic development because it promotes voluntary compliance, enhances transparency and increases investor confidence.
He said, “When tax administration becomes more efficient, compliance becomes easier. When compliance becomes easier, businesses can focus more on growth and productivity.
“As Nigeria continues its journey towards greater economic competitiveness and sustainable growth, initiatives such as Rev360 will play an important role in strengthening governance, supporting voluntary compliance, improving transparency, and creating a more enabling environment for business to thrive.”
Oyedele further noted that the Federal Government’s economic reform programme is built around stronger institutions, better fiscal management, digital innovation and greater efficiency across public sector operations.
Also addressing participants at the event, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, said the platform would contribute to government efforts to improve the ease of doing business and support its goal of expanding the economy to $1tn.
She reflected on previous efforts to automate tax administration and stated that the revenue agency had made considerable progress in addressing stakeholder concerns and improving service delivery.
“The Tinubu administration is committed to seeing this economy well above $1tn, and these are the building blocks,” Oduwole said.
She also praised the leadership of the NRS for leveraging technology and advancing reforms aimed at improving engagement with businesses and taxpayers.
The Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, described Rev360 as evidence of the agency’s evolution from a conventional revenue collection body into a technology-focused institution.
Adedeji said, “Nigerian Revenue Service is no more an accounting agency. It’s now a technology agency.
“This is the future. And it’s not for us to dream the future. We just have to build that future. And I think that is what NRS is doing today.”
In her welcome remarks, the Executive Director of the Medium and Emerging Taxpayers Group, Bolaji Akintola, explained that Rev360 was created to simplify taxpayer engagement by making registration, filing, payment and support services more accessible and efficient.
She observed that businesses now expect public services to offer the same level of speed, transparency and convenience commonly associated with the private sector.
“What excites us most about Rev360 is not merely its technological capability, but its practical impact on taxpayers,” she said.
Akintola added that the platform would give taxpayers better visibility into their obligations, simplify critical processes, improve support services and encourage stronger collaboration between taxpayers and the revenue authority.
The Chief of Staff to the NRS Chairman, Mr Tayo Koleosho, explained that Rev360 serves as an integrated platform that combines taxpayer registration, assessment, payment processing, audits, customer support and compliance management in a single system.

He said the initiative was designed to reduce administrative burdens on businesses while improving revenue collection and encouraging voluntary tax compliance.
“It is about collecting more revenue for the country, but helping businesses so there is not a disruptive process,” he said.
Koleosho further noted that the platform would generate stronger data insights for both businesses and policymakers, supporting better economic planning and decision-making.
The Executive Director of Technology at NRS, Mr Sodiq Iniabasi Akpan, said the development of Rev360 was driven by evolving taxpayer expectations and the future demands of revenue administration.
He explained that the platform brings together registration, filing, payment services, reporting, compliance management, support functions and operational intelligence within a unified ecosystem.
“Rev360 was not developed because new technologies are available. It was built because there’s a future,” Akpan said.
He added that the initiative signifies the agency’s shift from digital administration to intelligent administration by providing real-time visibility, enhanced workflow management, stronger compliance tools, improved taxpayer support and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
The launch event included live demonstrations of registration, filing, payment and reporting processes, alongside a panel discussion focused on operational readiness, stakeholder engagement, taxpayer support and lessons learned during implementation.
According to the NRS, Rev360 aligns with its vision of establishing a modern, transparent, efficient and data-driven revenue administration system capable of responding to the changing needs of taxpayers and supporting Nigeria’s economic growth.
The launch comes shortly after the Nigeria Revenue Service warned that tax leakages, delayed remittances and poor compliance among some government institutions and sub-national entities could undermine its target of generating approximately N40tn in revenue for the federation in 2026.
