The Federal Government has urged striking health professionals, particularly nurses, to end their industrial action and return to the negotiation table, stressing that the dispute can be resolved through dialogue.
According to the government, talks with the leadership of both nurses and doctors are scheduled for Friday, the 1st of August, 2025, efforts will be made to address all grievances behind the strike.
Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Ali Pate, revealed this while speaking with State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He stated that the government had reviewed the concerns raised by the nurses and taken steps to address them.
Prof. Pate also disclosed that the Council has approved the establishment of an Oncology Centre at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, noting that the current administration is focused on driving major changes in the healthcare system.
