The federal government has announced the inaugural Nigerian Foods and Culture Festival, scheduled for December 16–17, 2025, at the Cricket Pitch of Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, as part of this year’s Detty December celebrations.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at a media briefing in Abuja by the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa.
She said the festival, organised jointly with Irabor Creative Minds, will showcase Nigeria’s cultural heritage, culinary diversity, music, dance, fashion and art.
Musawa added that the festival reflects the government’s commitment under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to support the arts, create jobs and provide an enabling environment for the creative industry to thrive.
