The Federal Government has restated its pledge to finish Section Three of the 61-kilometre Enugu–Port Harcourt Expressway in Enugu State without delay.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made this known during a visit to the project site.
He was accompanied by a high-level federal delegation as part of a Citizens’ Engagement tour in the South East. Idris stressed that quality road infrastructure plays a key role in driving economic growth, enhancing safety, and improving citizens’ quality of life.

“This project is a visible testament to the government’s resolve to complete strategic highways nationwide for the benefit of Nigerians,” said Idris.
The dual carriageway, being constructed by CGC Nigeria Limited, covers a total of 122 kilometres and has a contract value of ₦100.8 billion.
According to Engineer Tony Mbiko, Director of Highways for the Southeast, the Enugu-bound lane is already completed, while work continues on the remaining section.
