FIFA has introduced the TRIONDA FINAL as the official match ball for the final four games of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, including the two semi-finals, the bronze medal match and the final.
The announcement was made on Tuesday in a statement published on the world football governing body’s official website.
According to FIFA, the new ball will make its debut during the semi-finals before being used in the third-place playoff and the World Cup final, which is scheduled to take place on July 19 at New York New Jersey Stadium in the United States.
The organisation explained that the TRIONDA FINAL retains the same performance-focused construction as the original TRIONDA ball unveiled in October 2025 but introduces a premium look featuring gold, white and black colours.
FIFA said the gold finish represents the FIFA World Cup trophy and the journey to football’s greatest prize, while the black base gives the ball a unique appearance for the tournament’s decisive matches.
The governing body also noted that the design pays tribute to all 16 host cities of the expanded 2026 World Cup.
It said Dallas, Atlanta, Miami and New York New Jersey—the venues hosting the semi-finals, bronze medal match and final—are highlighted, while Boston, Guadalajara, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Monterrey, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Toronto and Vancouver are reflected through the ball’s triangular graphic patterns.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the new ball as a fitting symbol for the competition’s concluding stages.
“The TRIONDA FINAL ball for the last four matches of the FIFA World Cup is here,” Infantino said.
“The iconic TRIONDA has brought so much joy every time it has hit the back of the net in this FIFA World Cup and it perfectly embodies the unity and passion of the tournament’s host nations Canada, Mexico and the United States.
“For the final four matches of the tournament, this TRIONDA FINAL will be at the feet of the best players on the planet.
Through every touch, dribble, flick, pass, cross, save, strike and goal, the 16 cities that have helped FIFA stage the record-breaking 23rd edition of the tournament will be further etched into FIFA World Cup folklore,” he said.
FIFA further disclosed that the ball is equipped with the latest version of adidas Connected Ball Technology, which delivers real-time ball data to assist match officials in making quicker decisions while also improving match analysis.
The World Cup semi-finals are set to kick off on July 14, with the bronze medal match and the final bringing the tournament to a close on July 19.
