The Federal Ministry of Finance has reacted to the Wednesday morning fire outbreak on its building located in the Central Business District, Abuja.
Black smoke was seen billowing from a part of the building on Wednesday morning as a result of the fire outbreak, which media reports claimed gutted part of the ministry’s building.
However, reacting in a post on its Twitter handle, the ministry explained that the fire incident happened on the corridor in the basement involving an isolated battery pack and was put out by the security personnel on duty.
The ministry wrote, “NewsFlash: The Federal Ministry of Finance HQ is not on fire as reported on social media. Rather, there was an incident on the corridor in the basement involving an isolated battery Pack (photo inset). It was quickly put out by the security personnel on duty.”
