Popular Afrobeat and contemporary R&B singer, Adedamola Adefolahan, known professionally as Fireboy, left Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, where the #14thHeadies was held with more awards than all the artistes nominated for the year award.
Fireboy, a singer and songwriter, who is signed to YBNL Nation, an independent record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide, left home with five awards.
Speaking about the event which had most of the show pre-recorded, the convener, Ayo Animashaun, disclosed that the nominations were based on the songs that were released between July 2019 and September 2020.
Fireboy’s songs that saw him led the way with five wins included his sophomore album, Apollo.
Headies 14th edition was attended by a lot of Nigerian celebrities including 2Baba, AY, Wizkid, Idia Aisien, AQ, iLLBliss, Bad Boy Timz, Omah Lay, Mayorkun Sound Sultan and more.
Meanwhile, Davido, Burna Boy and Tiwa Savage were absent.
The event with made use of live band was anchored by Bovi, and Nancy Isime.
