Skyewise Group has clarified that the property recently demolished along the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos belongs solely to the company and not to popular auto influencer, Ola of Lagos.

The clarification followed widespread reports on social media suggesting that the demolished car lot belonged to the influencer, who is known for showcasing luxury automobiles online.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Chief Executive Officer of Skyewise Group, Elvis Abuyere, described the demolition of the firm’s office as “unfortunate and saddening.”

According to him, the demolition was part of an ongoing effort by the Lagos State Government to create access routes for a new waterway development project, which affected several car lots along the corridor.

“This unfortunate incident affected several car lots along the Lekki Expressway, starting from Phase 1, where the Skyewise Group office was located,” Abuyere explained.

He stressed that the demolished property was fully owned by Skyewise Group, though a section of the premises had been leased to Ola of Lagos for car hire operations and luxury car display.

“All necessary building approvals, operational permits, dealership licenses, and environmental levies for the property were duly obtained from the Lagos State Government,” Abuyere said, adding that the company would soon release copies of the relevant documents.

While expressing sadness over the development, the CEO noted that plans were already underway to rebuild and establish a new, improved facility in Lagos.

Abuyere thanked Nigerians for their support during the setback and expressed confidence that the company would “emerge stronger and better in no distant future.”
