First aircraft lands at Ekiti Airport as Fayemi commissions facility ahead exit

On Saturday, the first aircraft touched down at Ekiti State Airport as the facility was officially opened by Governor Kayode Fayemi.

The NAF 930 carrying Hadi Sirika, the Aviation Minister, and his staff touched down on the runway at the airport Saturday morning.

Speaking after the plane touched down, Sirika referred to the airport as a bridge that will help Ekiti State and the country thrive.

The opening of the airport is anticipated to be one of Fayemi’s final official duties before handing over to Governor-Elect Biodun Oyebanji.

According to Fayemi, the initiative is typical and originated from resiliency.

He expressed confidence that it would have numerous good effects on the state.

Both cargo and passenger services are anticipated to be available at the airport.

Fayemi will officially exit office on Sunday, October 16.
