Flying Eagles Hold Colombia 1-1 to Reach U-20 Knockouts

Nigeria sealed their qualification after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Colombia in the early hours of Monday.

Gonzalez K. opened the scoring for the South Americans in the 51st minute, but the Flying Eagles clawed their way back when Bamiyi D. converted a penalty in the 86th minute to secure the crucial point that guaranteed their place in the Round of 16 as one of the four best third-placed teams.

Elsewhere, Morocco topped Group C with 6 points after winning their first two matches, displaying tactical brilliance and composure throughout the group stage.

South Africa also impressed, finishing second in Group E with 6 points — their qualification sealed by a thrilling comeback victory over the United States in their final group encounter.

Sadly, Egypt fell short and will play no further part in the tournament after failing to advance from their group.
