Former INC president, Kimse Okoko, dies at 80

A former President of the Ijaw National Congress and Emeritus Professor of Political Science, University of Port Harcourt, Kimse Okoko, is dead.

Okoko, who was also the president of the Conference of Ethnic Nationalities in Niger Delta, died at a Port Harcourt hospital on Sunday at the age of 80.

He hailed from Obunagha community in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Okoko’s died six months after the sudden demise of his 42-year-old billionaire-businessman son and former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Keniebi.

Okoko who was also the Pro-Chancellor, University of Uyo, was said to have breathed his last at about 5pm on Sunday.
