A Fulani socio-cultural organisation, Concerned Fulani People of Nigeria, has called on President Bola Tinubu and South-West governors, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, to caution Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, over alleged threats directed at Fulani communities in Oyo State.
In a statement released on Sunday, June 21, the group alleged that Igboho issued an ultimatum to Fulani leaders over the reported abduction of a woman and her children, warning of possible retaliation if the victims were not released within two hours.
The organisation also claimed that Igboho threatened to confront suspected kidnappers and invade a forest reserve believed to be their hideout if the captives were not freed.
The group warned that generalising criminal actions and linking them to an entire ethnic group could heighten tensions and worsen insecurity in the region.
Signed by its convener, Ibrahim Barkindo Chubado, the statement stressed that Fulani communities should not be collectively blamed for crimes allegedly committed by individuals, insisting that offenders must be held personally responsible.
The organisation further alleged that past clashes in parts of Oyo State had resulted in killings and displacement of Fulani residents, including women and children.
It called for thorough, evidence-based investigations into security incidents and urged authorities to avoid ethnic profiling in addressing criminal activities.

The group also appealed to President Tinubu and South-West governors to intervene and promote peaceful coexistence among communities, while urging citizens to support security agencies in the fight against kidnapping and banditry.
First Daily reports that in the recent viral video, Igboho was seen addressing community representatives and traditional leaders, where he expressed anger over alleged killings and abductions in the area.
He accused some members of the Fulani community of kidnapping residents and referenced incidents involving a pregnant woman and ransom negotiations that reportedly turned deadly.
“The person who brought the ransom, you still killed him and spared only one person,” he said, while warning that such incidents must not repeat.
Igboho also issued a two-hour ultimatum for the release of other abducted victims, stressing that he had shown restraint following appeals from traditional rulers.
“I am Sunday Igboho. I am calm because my fathers asked me to be calm with you. Let this be the last time such a thing will happen,” he said.
He further warned that failure to comply would trigger decisive action, including threats of entering suspected hideouts linked to the kidnappings.
