The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has stated that the party’s immediate task is to bring Abia, Enugu, and Anambra under APC control.
Speaking during the APC South-East Stakeholders’ meeting at the Christian Ecumenical Centre in Abakaliki, Ganduje emphasized the importance of unity among party stakeholders in the region to achieve this goal.
Ganduje highlighted the APC’s ongoing efforts to end the marginalization of the South-East, ensuring that the region can fully benefit from the current administration and integrate into national politics.
He stressed the necessity of collaboration and adherence to internal democracy within the party.
“For us to take over Enugu, Anambra, and Abia states, we must unite and uphold internal democracy and understand the constitution of our party. We will soon start electronic registration. We will examine each polling unit to know the one that has registered for APC,” Ganduje stated.

He praised Ebonyi Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for converting the state into a one-party state and stressed the importance of unity and resilience among Southeast residents.
Ebonyi Governor Nwifuru advocates for peace, unity
Ebonyi State Governor Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru underscored the need for peace, unity, and oneness among Ebonyians, regardless of party affiliation.
He emphasized that peace is essential for the state’s development and called for resolving conflicts through sacrifice rather than violence.
“We are committed to the sustainability of democracy, which the party upholds. All the issues raised will also be resolved. APC is the only political party in existence in this state. It’s better to resolve by sacrifice rather than through fighting, and acceptance of the fact that everyone of us is needed and we believe that no one has the monopoly of violence,” Nwifuru said.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of allowing people to decide and ensuring inclusive participation within the party.
