Ogun State Commissioner for Housing, Jamiu Omoniyi, has stated that the 200-unit Gateway Aviation Estate will provide a conducive living environment for professionals working or conducting business around the state’s Agro Cargo Airport.
During an inspection of the estate’s first phase in Iperu, Ikenne Local Government Area, Omoniyi emphasized that essential infrastructure—including pipe-borne water, electricity, good road networks, and security—has been put in place. He added that a fibre optic internet facility, already connected to the airport, would soon be extended to the estate to facilitate seamless business transactions for residents.
“With the available facilities, subscribers to this housing scheme will enjoy the ease of doing business from home while being strategically positioned near the airport,” he said.
He also revealed that the project has created approximately 5,000 jobs, engaging skilled workers such as bricklayers, plumbers, roofers, electricians, and aluminum fabricators, injecting N700 million in daily wages into the state’s economy and contributing to its GDP.
Omoniyi noted that the estate’s first phase is ready for commissioning, while construction of the second phase is underway to accommodate new subscribers. He described the estate as a key hub for business activities around the airport.
“The Gateway Aviation Estate is designed to complement the Ogun Agro Cargo Airport and enhance its commercial operations. The airport cannot thrive without a supporting community, which is why this estate is strategically positioned to create an aerotropolis where people can live and work conveniently,” he explained.
He further highlighted the upcoming fibre optic internet connection, stating, “With top-notch internet facilities, residents will be fully connected to the world, enabling them to conduct business seamlessly from their homes while enjoying a complete and comfortable lifestyle.”
