Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in collaboration with national security operatives, arrested 32 Nigerian nationals in the early hours of Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Kasoa Tuba in the Central Region.
The suspects are accused of running a romance scam syndicate that targeted victims primarily in Thailand and Japan through online relationship scams.
The operation led to the seizure of 31 laptops and 15 mobile phones, believed to have been used in the alleged criminal activities.
The devices are undergoing forensic examination as part of the ongoing investigation, and the suspects remain in custody assisting authorities.
Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations Minister Samuel Nartey George described the arrests as “another massive blow against cybercrime in Ghana,” emphasizing the government’s commitment to making the country unattractive to cybercriminals.

Authorities warned that further arrests could follow as the investigation continues.
