Gombe ADC Youths Give Nafi’u Bala 48 Hours To Resign

Youths of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe State have issued a strict 48‑hour ultimatum to Hon. Nafi’u Bala, demanding that he step down from his claim to party leadership or formally acknowledge his resignation.

The directive, delivered on Monday, April 6, 2026, comes amid a deepening leadership crisis that has divided the party at both state and national levels.

The convener of the ADC Youth Network in Gombe, Abubakar Galafi, stated that Bala’s actions are undermining the party’s internal democracy and credibility.

The youths accused him of prioritizing personal and external interests over party rules, warning that failure to comply would prompt them to withdraw support and escalate opposition, effectively isolating him from grassroots structures.

The ongoing dispute stems from a prolonged conflict over the rightful leadership of the ADC following the resignation of a key figure in 2025.

Competing factions, one led by Bala, a former deputy national chairman, and another aligned with former Senate President David Mark have contested control, with both sides seeking validation from the Independent National Electoral Commission and courts.

The ultimatum highlights the growing impatience among youth members, signaling that party cohesion may hinge on swift resolution of the leadership impasse.
