Gladness Gideon
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Friday inaugurated the newly trained Amotekun cadets, urging them to uphold discipline, integrity, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Speaking at the Passing-out Parade held at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Ede, Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing security across the state. He highlighted the recent restructuring of the Osun Amotekun Corps as part of broader efforts to strengthen law enforcement.
“We ensured the appointment of new leadership with vast knowledge in security operations and law enforcement,” the governor stated. “Our administration then provided a befitting operational headquarters for the service to serve as a coordinating point. I am glad to note that the new leadership designed a reform agenda that the administration is implementing.”
Governor Adeleke outlined key aspects of the reforms, including increasing the number of personnel, improving law enforcement training, and expanding operational equipment and logistics.
He emphasized that the full implementation of these initiatives would bolster the Amotekun Corps’ capacity to safeguard lives and property effectively.

As part of long-term security plans, the governor announced that Amotekun would be a beneficiary of the forthcoming Osun Security Trust Fund, which will provide logistical and financial support to security agencies.
“I assure you that your requests for vehicles, bikes, and other operational equipment will be looked into immediately,” he assured the cadets. “You must be dedicated anti-crime fighters, uphold discipline, and shun corruption. Your conduct should reflect the high standards expected of the corps.”
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Amotekun Board, retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Wale Abass, commended the cadets for successfully completing three weeks of intensive training.
He assured the governor and the people of Osun that the newly inducted personnel were fully prepared to discharge their responsibilities with professionalism and commitment.
The Osun Amotekun Corps, a key component of the Southwest regional security initiative, continues to play a crucial role in combating crime and enhancing public safety in the state.
