Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to religious harmony, emphasizing that both Muslims and Christians in the state must enjoy equal rights.
During a condolence visit to Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, at the Government House in Jos, Governor Mohammed expressed his sympathies over the demise of Lt. Gen. Jeremiah Timbut Useni and the Second National Deputy Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Hassan Saeed Jingir.
In a heartfelt conversation with Governor Mutfwang, Mohammed defended his administration’s policy of constructing and refurbishing churches in Bauchi, underscoring that Christian citizens deserve equal recognition and support.
“You renovated a mosque as the governor of Plateau State, but that has never been done before. It may look very small, but that is what we are doing in Bauchi. We build churches.
We renovate churches because it is their right. They are also citizens of the state,” he stated.
Reflecting on the legacy of Sheikh Jingir, Governor Mohammed paid tribute to the revered cleric, acknowledging his significant contributions to Islamic teachings and the Muslim community.
“Sheikh Hassan Saeed Jingir was an Islamic scholar that Islam and the entire Muslim Ummah will miss. I did listen to his preachings, and he came to Bauchi for teachings. We enjoyed him during his time.

“We appreciate the work you are doing and your all-inclusive government. We have been hearing that you are carrying everybody along, and we are happy about that. As your neighbor, we will continue to tell people the good things you are doing. What touches Plateau also touches us,” he added.
With this commitment to religious equality and regional cooperation, Governor Mohammed continues to set a precedent for governance rooted in fairness, inclusivity, and unity.
