Gov Fubara Commissions New Oxygen Plant

In a significant stride toward enhancing healthcare infrastructure, Rivers State Governor Simi Fubara has commissioned a new oxygen plant.

This initiative, part of a broader three-point agenda, underscores the government’s commitment to advancing healthcare, education, and agriculture in the state.

Governor Fubara emphasized the importance of the project, stating, “With the commissioning of this oxygen plant, we are purposefully aligning our efforts to keep delivering on the critical areas of healthcare, education, and agriculture. As part of a three-point agenda, we have, within the past six months, significantly improved healthcare in Rivers State. Our aim is to make the State a health tourism destination.”

Though the oxygen plant is a UNICEF initiative, Governor Fubara highlighted the state’s dedicated commitment and investment in healthcare. “This project reflects our commitment. We will protect and secure the plant, as it will bring development and health benefits, especially in respiratory care, to Rivers State and beyond,” he added.

The governor also called for patience and unity among the citizens, acknowledging the validity of protests but cautioning against them being hijacked by negative elements.

“We urge for patience as we continue to work on building a better society. Protests are valid, but let’s not let them be hijacked by enemies of progress. We all need to be patient as we navigate from a challenging start towards a brighter future.”

The commissioning of the oxygen plant marks a pivotal moment in Rivers State’s journey towards becoming a leading health tourism destination, bringing hope and better health outcomes to its residents and the wider region.
