Gunmen Abduct APC Ward Chairman Near Farm in Ondo

Gunmen have abducted Nelson Adepoyigi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman for Ifon Ward 5 in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident reportedly took place on Monday evening along the Benin-Ifon-Owo expressway. At the time of reporting on Tuesday, May 13, details surrounding the abduction were still unclear.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said Adepoyigi was seized at the entrance of his farm.

“I can confirm to you that the chairman APC ward 5 was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along Ifon-Owo road,” Ayanlade stated.

He added that following the report, the Divisional Police Officer in Ifon, alongside local hunters, members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, and Nigerian Army personnel, had launched a manhunt for the abductors.

The police urged anyone with helpful information to come forward and advised the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to security agencies.
