Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped a National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, member from a commercial vehicle travelling along the Katsina-Ala–Takum highway in Benue State.
The abduction took place over the weekend when a Toyota Carina II, registration number KLD 108 AA, was en route to Katsina-Ala from Takum, Taraba State, carrying seven passengers.
At Tsede Village, located on the Katsina-Ala–Takum boundary, the attackers blocked the road, robbed all occupants, and took away the corps member later identified as Saadu Dauda from Zamfara State.
A corps member ID card found in his bag, which was left in the vehicle, confirmed his identity.

Security agencies have commenced a joint operation aimed at apprehending the perpetrators and securing the victim’s release.
Efforts to reach the Benue State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Udeme Edet, for confirmation were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
