Unknown gunmen early Tuesday morning killed six people in an attack on a camp for internally displaced persons in Abagena, along Makurdi-Lafia highway in Benue State.
Scores of people were said to have been injured.
Many residents of the camp have fled in different directions.
Bonfires made on the road have prevented vehicles coming and going out of Makurdi to proceed.
