Unknown gunmen invaded the family residence of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State, in the early hours of Tuesday, April 15.
Eyewitnesses said the attack happened around 1:00 am, with at least three men armed with guns and cutlasses destroying parts of the building, breaking windows, and creating panic in the area.
The lawmaker’s Chief Security Officer, Yakubu Ovanja, alerted security agencies, prompting officers from the Okehi Police Division to respond swiftly to the scene.

While no one was injured during the incident, the motive behind the attack remains unclear. No suspects have been apprehended as of now.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central in the Senate, has not yet issued an official statement. She has recently made headlines following a sexual harassment allegation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the police have opened a preliminary investigation and are working to identify the attackers.
