…demands N10m ransom

Gunmen have reportedly kidnapped three cattle breeders at Idi-Ope area in Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The victims were ambushed on their way to the farm settlement at Idi-Ope and whisked away to an unknown destination by the suspected kidnappers.
However, it was reliably gathered that 24 hours after the incident a communication link was established with the relations of the victims.
The suspected kidnappers were said to be demanding for payment of N10m ransom before their release.
The incident was confirmed by the Convener of Igangan Development Advocate, Oladiran Oladokun and the Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso.
The PPRO in a statement said three male victims were abducted in the Igangan area of the state on Sunday.
He said: “Three male victims were abducted around 18:20hrs on Sunday at Idi Ope village near Igangan.
“The case was however reported 11:54hrs on Monday. Efforts are ongoing to rescue the victims and apprehend the abductors.”
Osifeso appealed to members of the public to always report such incidents early so as to assist the police in taking prompt action.
