Viktor Gyökeres has reportedly reached a total agreement with Arsenal on personal terms, marking a significant step towards a potential blockbuster move to the Premier League.
Sources close to the negotiation confirmed on Saturday that the Swedish striker has informed his current club, Sporting CP, of his intention to join Mikel Arteta’s side this summer.
The 26-year-old is believed to be excited about the project at the Emirates and sees the move as the next big step in his career.
Gyökeres enjoyed a stellar debut season with Sporting, scoring 43 goals and assisting 15 times across all competitions, which quickly made him a target for several top clubs across Europe.

However, Arsenal have now moved ahead in the race by securing personal terms with the prolific forward.
While the agreement between player and club is now in place, Arsenal must still negotiate a deal with Sporting CP, who are understood to be holding firm on the striker’s release clause, which reportedly stands at around €100 million.
The Gunners are in the market for a new frontman to bolster their attack ahead of the 2025/26 season, and Gyökeres is viewed as an ideal fit for Arteta’s high-intensity, attacking style of play.
Negotiations between both clubs are expected to intensify in the coming days as Arsenal push to wrap up the deal before pre-season preparations kick off in full swing.
