Nigerian Senate has called on the Federal Government to direct officials of the National Emergency Management Agency and Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, to bring back the people of Yewa in Ogun State, who had relocated to the Republic of Benin following incessant herdsmen attacks on their communities.
This came after a point of order raised by the Senator representing Ogun West, Tolu Odebiyi.
The Senate also compelled security agencies in the country to ensure that law and order is brought back to the area in order for the citizens to live in safety.
Yewa residents recently moved to the Internally Displaced Persons’ camp located at Pobe in Benin Republic as Fulani herdsmen unleash terror on their communities.
Among the villages affected are Oha, Asa, Igbooro, Ibeku, Moro, and Agbon-Ojodu.
Recall that the residents of Yewa area of Ogun have been going through a tough time at the hands of herdsmen who allegedly had been terrorizing them.
