Hisbah Destroys ₦5.8m Worth of Alcohol in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Hisbah Board has announced the seizure and destruction of alcoholic beverages valued at ₦5.8 million in Kazaure Local Government Area.

The state Hisbah Commander, Ibrahim Dahiru, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Dutse.

He stated that the operation led by the Chairman of Kazaure, Alhaji Mansur Dabuwa, resulted in the destruction of 400 cartons of alcohol.

Dahiru explained that the seized items were confiscated during a series of raids on bars across the area.

He reiterated that the sale and consumption of alcohol remain banned throughout Jigawa State.

According to him, the board remains committed to curbing immoral activities, including alcohol consumption, which it considers harmful to society’s moral fabric.

He urged residents to continue providing useful information to assist the Hisbah in its operations and warned against engaging in acts that could undermine community values.

“We will not relent in our efforts to eliminate immoral acts, and we call on the public to work with us for a safer and morally upright society,” Dahiru said.
