History in Edo Police as Ikoedem Becomes First Female PRO

ASP Eno Ikoedem on Monday officially assumed duty as the new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Edo State Police Command, following her recent appointment to the position.

The development was announced in a statement issued by the Administrative Officer in the Police Public Relations Unit, ASP Emmanuel Nyokema.

According to the statement, Ikoedem’s appointment was approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun. She takes over from Moses Yamu, becoming the first female officer to serve as spokesperson for the command.

Nyokema described the appointment as a significant milestone for policing and public engagement in the state.

Before her elevation, Ikoedem served as Deputy PPRO under two consecutive spokespersons. She is a graduate of the Nigeria Police Academy, where she completed a five-year programme and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English. She is also currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
