Ibori’s £4.2m loot lands in Nigeria from UK

Nigerian Government said it has received from the United Kingdom, the £4,214,017, linked to family members of a former governor of Delta State, James Ibori.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, confirmed this through a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesman, Umar Gwandu.

According to the statement, the stolen fund was credited with the Naira equivalent on May 10.

Recall that Malami had earlier in March this year, on behalf of the Federal Government, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UK Government for the repatriation of the Ibori loot.

According to Malami, the repatriation followed the reputation Nigeria has earned in the management of recovered stolen public funds in the execution of public oriented projects.
