The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has traced several high-value residential properties in Egypt to former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, raising fresh questions over alleged financial improprieties during his tenure.
Investigators revealed on Monday, March 9, 2026, that the assets include three villas and six apartments located in exclusive estates in Cairo, particularly in the affluent district of New Cairo.
The villas are reportedly situated in Arabella Estate, Banafsik Estate, and Oriana II Estate, near the American University in Cairo, while the apartments are in Cairo Festival City and Oriana Estate.

Property valuations suggest the villas are worth between $1 million and $1.3 million each, and the apartments approximately $500,000 each, placing the total portfolio in the multi-billion naira range.
Investigators believe the properties were acquired between 2021 and 2023, during the final years of El-Rufai’s governance, which spanned 2015 to 2023.
The assets emerged as part of a broader ICPC probe into alleged financial misconduct linked to the former governor’s administration.
El-Rufai has consistently denied ownership of foreign luxury properties, describing allegations as politically motivated.
The ICPC has yet to announce formal charges, but the investigation is ongoing.
