The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, is set to launch the Nigeria Police Force Vigilant App and the MTN Closed User Group Network on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in Abuja.
The launch will take place at the Nigeria Police Resource Centre, Federal Capital Territory, as part of ongoing efforts by the Force to strengthen technology-driven policing and improve operational communication.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the NPF Vigilant App is designed to improve engagement, information sharing and communication between the police and members of the public.
The MTN CUG Network, on the other hand, will provide a dedicated communication platform for personnel of the Force, enabling faster and more efficient internal communication.
The initiative is expected to enhance coordination among police personnel while supporting more effective responses to security and operational challenges.

The Force said the launch reflects Disu’s commitment to deploying modern technology and strategic partnerships to improve policing and service delivery across the country.
It added that the Nigeria Police Force would continue to embrace technology, innovation and partnerships aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness and providing more responsive and people-centred security services to Nigerians.
