The Ijaw Diaspora Council (IDC) on Tuesday commiserated with Ambassador Godknows Igali over the demise of his mother, Mrs Fanny Igali.

He is also a former Ambassador to the Scandinavian countries – Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
Fanny, 84, passed on peacefully on July 28, 2022, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State capital.
In a condolence letter signed by the President, IDC, Prof Mony Gold, the group joined the people of Bayelsa and all peace-loving people across the globe to pray for the repose of the soul of the deceased.
The letter read in part: “We at the Ijaw Diaspora Council (IDC), wish to express our condolences to you and your entire family on the death of your mother Ma Fanny Igali, who passed on peacefully without any illness.
“She was a beacon of hope for many and was a foremost professional Caterer and Hotel Manager, who worked as a Catering Officer, Government House, Old Rivers State.
“She also distinguished herself as Catering Officer, Borno College of Basic Studies (BOCOPS), as well as Manager, Lake Chad Hotel, Maiduguri, Borno State.”
Extolling her virtues, the IDC noted that the deceased was equally a well-respected community leader, an educationist and a fervent member of Deeper Christian Life Church.
The diaspora group noted that her lifelong commitment to discipline, kindness, and generosity and the wide-ranging impact of these values on her children and students, left a legacy of service to God and humanity.
“We wish you divine comfort as you go through the period of grief and may God be with you and give you the strength to deal with your loss,” IDC stated.
