Nigeria Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Usman, has left Abuja for Lagos to visit the scene of a building collapse that occurred in Ikoyi, Lagos State on Monday.
The Lagos Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, and other senior policemen in the state have been awaiting the IGP at the venue.
“The IGP is coming to Lagos to visit the scene of the collapsed building in Ikoyi. The IGP is already airborne and could land any moment from now,” a police officer said.
FirstNews had reported that several people lost their lives in the building collapse which occurred on Monday afternoon,
Meanwhile, it was gathered that no fewer than 50 people were trapped in the collapsed building with efforts ongoing to save them.
