Ikpeazu makes case for club football

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has charged football lovers, fans in the country and beyond to work harder in ensuring that Enyimba Football Club and Abia Warriors operate and attain the same level like their cherished football Clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and the likes.

Ikpeazu gave the charge at the maiden graduation ceremony of Carl Academy And Football College located in Umuahia South LGA of Abia State.

The governor represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu lauded the founders for their wisdom in citing the Football Academy in Umuahia South and the State, equipping youths with academic knowledge and skills that will make them independent cum self reliant like the Education For Employment programme.

He reaffirmed his administration’s support for investors willing to invest in the State, pointing out that massive road rehabilitation and infrastructural development is ongoing at every nooks and crannies of the State and appealed to the graduating students to be good ambassadors of the institution while more awareness should be created on the existence of the Football Academy to the outside world as well as follow up on graduating students to ensure that they excel in their chosen professions.

In his speech, the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Chinedu Orji stressed that investing in the youths to be academically and skillfully relevant remains one of the hallmarks of development and advised the youths to be serious with their studies in order to become responsible and champions that will do the State proud.

Similarly, the Member representing Umuahia State Constituency in the ABSHA, Chief Jerry Uzosike and the Chairman Umuahia South LGA ,Chief Humphrey Benson who thanked Governor Ikpeazu for his numerous developmental projects in Umuahia South and the State at large also thanked the founder of the institution for investing and bringing development down home. They pledged their support to the academy which will fish out future champions as well as create employment opportunities.
