Nigerian Fuji legend, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, well known as K1 De Ultimate, has expressed his deep affection for the Celestial Church of Christ, proudly declaring himself a genuine and devoted member of the ministry.

Ayinde, who is a Muslim, shared this during a pre-recorded interview with Agbaletu TV on Wednesday, stating that he built a parish.

Cele is a Pentecostal church in the Aladura movement, which was founded by Samuel Oshoffa.

Members of the Celestial Church of Christ wear white, one-piece garments during worship and are required not to wear their shoes while wearing their garments and when inside the main church.

He noted that in his pursuit of knowing God, he became a member of the church, and he takes great pride in that decision.

He cherished the fact that he had explored both Islam and Christianity on his journey to know God, and he had no regrets about the path he had taken.

He said, “I attend Celestial church. I am a bonafide member of the celestial church. A proud one. In fact, I built a church. I sought different religions while trying to know God in both popular religions. There’s nowhere I didn’t try to find God.”

This comes after the singer coined a catchy phrase that quickly went viral, becoming a popular slang used across social media, at parties, on the streets, and in everyday conversations.

Ayinde, during a conversation with an unidentified man, had used the term “Ganusi” to refer to certain Islamic clerics (alfas) as preparations were underway for his mother’s burial.

Many interpreted the remark as suggesting that some alfas attend such ceremonies mainly for financial benefit.

This sparked a wave of criticism from various Islamic clerics and other Nigerians who believed that K1’s statement was disrespectful to the religious leaders.

However, the singer stood by his statement, insisting that he had done nothing wrong and saw no reason to apologise.
