Veteran Nigerian musician Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi has dismissed recent rumours of his death, assuring fans that he is alive and in good health.
In a video shared on his Instagram page on Sunday, the 83-year-old juju music legend appeared alongside his two sons, singing to reassure fans of his well-being.
Obey described the false reports as “lies from the kingdom of darkness” and clarified that he had recently travelled to London for personal care, not due to any illness.
He expressed his frustration over the spread of fake news, noting that some even went as far as sharing fabricated images of coffins to back up the claims.

This is not the first time Obey has had to refute such claims. Similar rumours surfaced in April 2025, prompting his personal assistant to issue a statement to reassure fans of his well-being.
Obey has remained active in the music industry and continues to engage with his admirers.
