The Imo State Police Command has announced a ban on the use of unmarked mini-buses and commercial tricycles (Keke) by tactical teams for patrol duties across the state.
The directive, issued Tuesday night by the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, followed rising public complaints over alleged harassment, extortion, and intimidation by operatives using such vehicles.
Describing the practice as “grossly unprofessional,” CP Danjuma warned that any officer found violating the new order would face immediate disciplinary action. He added that commanders of defaulting units would also be held vicariously liable.
