INEC fixes February 4 to test BVAS with mock accreditation exercise

On February 4th, according to the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), a practice accreditation exercise would be held.

Before the presidential and national assembly elections on February 25, the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) will be put to the test, according to the Commission.

This was revealed on Friday during a meeting with all 37 Resident Electoral Commissioners in the nation by INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.

He claims that the equipment utilized for the simulated election would be changed in order to prepare for the general elections.

Yakubu, who cited the resident commissioners’ meeting as being vital, is utilizing it to brief the commissioners on all the preparations the Commission has made for the process.

He added that one matter the Meeting needs to address is the continuous issuance of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

He guaranteed that the Commission would take additional action without hesitation to make sure that everyone who registered received their PVCs.
