IPOB sit-at-home order turns bloody, two dead

No fewer than two people have lost their lives following the crisis that ensued from the sit-at-home order by the IPOB on Monday.

FirstNews gathered that the incident occurred around Izuchukwu junction area of Nnewi, Anambra State.

Sources said the unrest in the area started around 7:30am when some of the IPOB members decided to enforce the sit-at-home order thereby blocking the major roads.

Meanwhile, some soldiers in efforts to prevent the IPOB members allegedly opened fire on them after some altercations and some of the IPOB members were allegedly killed.

An eyewitness who confirmed the incident said “that the two victims were actually killed by gunshots from the unidentified soldiers, who quickly took off immediately after they fell to their bullets.”

It was also gathered that some commercial motorcyclists who came out for brisk business were also killed in the incident.

The unrest, according to sources, has reduced the town to ghost city.

Youths from the area also trooped out to protest the killing but were dispersed by some military men who stormed the area to restore peace, it was also gathered.
