Iran Threatens Unprecedented Retaliation Over US Attack Warning

Iran has warned that it would deliver an unprecedented retaliation to any United States attack, responding to renewed military threats from President Donald Trump.

Iran’s mission to the United Nations issued the warning on Wednesday in a post on X, saying the country remained open to dialogue but would strongly defend itself if provoked.

Iran stands ready for dialogue based on mutual respect and interests — but if pushed, it will defend itself and respond like never before,” the mission said, reacting to Trump’s claim that a “massive armada” was heading toward the Islamic Republic.

The Iranian mission cautioned against US military intervention, recalling the human and financial costs of past American wars in the Middle East. It said the United States lost more than 7,000 troops and spent over $7 trillion in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Trump earlier on Wednesday renewed threats of military action against Iran, warning that “time is running out” for Tehran to reach a deal on its nuclear programme.

“As I told Iran once before, make a deal,” Trump said. “They didn’t, and there was ‘Operation Midnight Hammer,’ a major destruction of Iran. The next attack will be far worse.”

The US president has repeatedly signalled that military options remain on the table following Washington’s involvement alongside Israel in a 12-day conflict in June, which targeted Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have remained high amid stalled nuclear negotiations and escalating rhetoric from both sides.
