The Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, has debunked viral claims circulating online that the President had converted from Islam, insisting the allegation is false.
He addressed the issue in a statement posted on X on Thursday.
In his post, he wrote, Please disregard the video circulating claiming PBAT has converted. It is a lie…
Olusegun explained that President Tinubu remains a practising Muslim and has never changed his religious faith. He added that the President continues to show respect for his wife’s Christian faith, noting that she is a pastor.

According to him, Tinubu’s household reflects religious harmony rather than conversion or conflict, stressing that this balance mirrors the President’s approach to national unity.
“President Tinubu has always been a Muslim, while proudly supporting his wife, who is a Pastor. This unique interfaith harmony in his own home is what he brings to national leadership, which is unity and not conversion,” he added.
The clarification follows the circulation of a video on social media that fuelled speculation about the President’s religious identity.
