…says appointment based on merit
A former Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Bayelsa State, Dr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson has congratulated the newly appointed Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson-Jack.
President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday approved the appointment of Walson-Jack as the new Head of the Civil Service with effect from August 14, 2024.
Bayelsa, born Walson-Jack, who is currently the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education, will be taking over from Mrs. Folashade Yemi-Esan, who is due to retire next month.
In a statement, Dr. Iworiso-Markson thanked President Tinubu for the appointment, saying with Walson-Jack’s pedigree, he has no doubt she will deliver on her new job.
He described the newly appointed Head of the Civil Service as a consummate public servant with great administrative acumen and a knack for strategic and visionary thinking as well as excellent policy and governance skills.
Dr. Iworiso-Markson maintained that as the new boss of the nation’s apex civil service, she will bring her wealth of experience to bear by refocusing the service to align effectively with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Bola Tinubu administration.
While wishing her well on her new job, he noted that the appointment is a testament that there is reward for hardwork, diligence and dedication, stressing that President Tinubu has shown clearly that merit cannot be sacrificed on any altar.
