Iyabo Ojo, the popular Nigerian actress, has called her failed marriage a price she paid for her daughter Priscilla’s happiness.
She made the statement on Sunday, the 27th of July, 2025, at Priscilla’s baby shower in Canada.
While praying for her daughter in a now-viral video, the actress declared: “Even if mine did not work, your own marriage will work, you’ll grow old with your husband beside you. Because you have married the bone of your bones. I have paid the sacrifice for your marriage to work.”
The mother of two who parted ways with her ex-husband Ademidun Ojo over two decades ago, spoke with strong emotion and conviction.

She went further, saying, “There’s something called ancestral curses. For you to break it, you must stop it.” She urged fellow mothers to break cycles that don’t serve their children.
The role interpreter also praised Priscilla’s husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, saying her daughter has married someone who truly cherishes her.
Despite public attention and occasional criticism, Iyabo has remained firm in her support for her daughter’s journey, calling it a new beginning worth protecting.
