Nollywood star, Iyabo Ojo, has declared her willingness to collaborate with any political platform committed to advancing Nigeria’s development.
Her statement comes in the wake of reactions trailing her appearance in a promotional video for the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
A recently circulated clip posted by FAAN on X showed the actress commending what she described as noticeable upgrades at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. Sharing the same video on her page, she wrote, “FAAN is changing for the better in so many ways. I’m so proud of my country.”
The post generated varied responses online, largely due to her previously outspoken political alignment.
Several commentators referenced her criticism of the administration of Bola Tinubu and her open support for Peter Obi during the 2023 general elections.
Addressing the speculation that followed, FAAN’s Managing Director, Olubunmi Kuku, refuted claims suggesting that Ojo had secured a contract or been officially named an ambassador for the agency.
Responding to the criticism, Iyabo maintained that she acted out of patriotism and without financial compensation. She stressed that her decision to promote the airport improvements was voluntary and rooted in her desire to highlight positive developments in the country.

On her Instagram page, she wrote; “I’m Nigerian. And I’m a voice. When I see progress, airports upgraded, roads rebuilt, systems improved etc, I shout it from the rooftops if need be, not because I am being paid, not because I am political, but because I feel it and I want good for my country. I will continue to use my craft, my voice, to promote Nigeria, and I am unapologetic about it.
“FAAN approached me that you have seen the changes. Please help us spread the word. So I did it for free. No contract. Just love for Nigeria. If Nigeria must rise we ALL must build it. Silence helps no one. I will work with any political party as long as it is building a better tomorrow for our dear nation. No agenda. Just hands joined. Let’s stop dividing”, she said.
The situation unfolds amid reports that Seyi Tinubu, son of President Tinubu, has been engaging celebrities and influencers to spearhead support initiatives ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Notably, the promotional content surfaced months after Iyabo, known for backing Peter Obi, held a private meeting with Seyi Tinubu in Lagos State.
