The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, has approved the immediate redeployment of five judges across different judicial divisions in a fresh round of administrative adjustments within the judiciary.
The announcement was made in an official statement issued on Sunday by the court’s Director of Information, Catherine Christopher.
According to the statement, the affected judges and their new postings are as follows:
Justice M. Umar moves from the Enugu Division to Abuja
Justice Tijjani Ringim is redeployed from Gombe to Yola
Justice M. Segun-Bello shifts from Abakaliki to Enugu
Justice Bala Usman goes from Yola to Awka
Justice Amina Mohammed transfers from Awka to Gombe

The redeployment takes immediate effect, with all affected judges expected to finalise any pending judgments in their current stations as swiftly as possible.
“In the interim, judges presently serving in the Abakaliki and Katsina Judicial Divisions are to oversee all existing and incoming cases in their jurisdictions until further directives are issued,” the statement noted.
In a related directive, the court clarified that all cases previously assigned to Court No. 5 of the Abuja Division will now be handled by the judge newly deployed to Abuja.
This move eliminates the need for litigants or their counsel to apply for reassignment.
The latest reshuffle reflects ongoing efforts by the Federal High Court leadership to ensure efficiency, balanced workload distribution, and timely delivery of justice across all divisions.
